If your answers are all Yes, then I am sorry to inform you that your kid is smoking. Therefore you need to take action earlier to prevent this from being worse.

If you have a mix of Yes and No, chances are your kid might be smoking and might not be smoking. The only way to find out is to sit down and talk to your kid. Ask him or her directly in a more friendly way rather than offensive.

If your answers are all No, congratulations, your kid is not smoking and you need to make sure that your kid will never light a cigarette in the future even though he or she is not smoking now.

Teen Smoking - The Truth

Teen smoking is not a new issue. In fact, it has started a long time ago and today, there are millions of teenagers around the world are smoking. Of course, there are many reasons why teenagers smoke and the biggest reason is due to peer pressure. Teens who have started smoking will drag even more teens to join them. It seems like the coolest thing to do because everyone is doing it.

However, there are a few things we need to keep in mind in order to prevent teen smoking.

First of all, any teens can start smoking anytime. This can happen to your teens or someone else’s teens. Again, the main attraction that pulls them into smoking is the misconception of being the coolest kid in town.

Secondly, most of the first timer smoke before high school graduation. The good news is that if your kid has not started smoking anytime before finishing high school, chances are she or he is unlikely to smoke in the future.

Thirdly, helping your kid to build self confidence and self esteem can help to prevent him or her from smoking. Usually kids smoke because lack of confidence and self esteem. Through smoking, they find their courage and confidence.

Fourthly, you need to inform your kid about the danger of smoking. Study shows that parents who explain the danger of cigarettes to their kids are likely to prevent the kids from smoking. The key is that your kids want to hear it from you.

Lastly, once your kid started to smoke, there is no way he or she can stop just because you ask. Once your kid is addicted, it will be very difficult to quit smoking and you will need to refer your kid to a professional to help him or her to quit smoking.

Things You Should Not Worry When Quit Smoking - Part 4

smokingOften when you are in the process of quit smoking, you find yourself thinking,

“What’s wrong with another cigarette. It will be the last.”

Unfortunately, this is the kind of thinking that will fail you in quit smoking. You find yourself lighting another cigarette and you are doom.

The point is, you should not worry about lighting up another cigarette. Instead think of how you can stay away from it. If possible, take your mind of from cigarettes. Occupy yourself with more entertaining activities such as jogging or walk around the park, hang out with friends who are not smokers or even read a book of your favourite.

You should not worry that you might pick up smoking again because the more you think about it, the more likely it will happen. Free yourself from the thought and focus on something else.

Things You Should Not Worry When Quit Smoking - Part 3

This is the third part of Things You Should Not Worry When Quit Smoking. As I have explain in the first two parts, you should not worry about the future and think of negative thoughts. In this part, I am going to explain why you should not neglect yourself when you quit smoking. What happen right now is that many smokers who are trying to quit smoking are caught up in a situation where they no longer care for themselves, such as taking care of the food they eat, clothes they wear and some are not sleeping at all. This is normal as they feel something is missing.

However, the problem is smokers who are undergoing quit smoking treatments must be conscious about what is going on and take great care of the body. These are what you should do:

  • Eat well balanced meals
  • Get as much rest as possible
  • Drink more water
  • Exercise every day
  • Take multi-vitamins tablets

The reason you must eat well balanced meals is simple. You need high quality fuel for your body as your body is flushing away the toxins.

Now, you tend to get tired easily so it would be better if you can sleep more.

When you drink a lot of water, it will help your body to flush out the toxins faster and efficiently.

You need to exercise to curb the craving of cigarette. Exercise will be able to help you maintain good health physically and mentally.

As the cigarettes have been destroying all the nutrients in the body you need to replenish the nutrients by taking in multi-vitamins.

Basically, it is very important for you to stay focus when you quit smoking as this will ensure a higher chance for success.

Things You Should Not Worry When Quit Smoking - Part 2

This is the second part of the series: Things You Should Not Worry When Quit Smoking. In this part, I am going to talk about Negativity.

Surprisingly, there is a research that indicates 2/3 of our thoughts are all negative thoughts leaving only 1/3 positive thoughts. This is really bad news considering that a human can have up to 66,000 thoughts in a day.

How to not worry about Negativity? Pay attention to your thoughts. I am sure that most of the smokers who are trying to quit smoking after so may years of smoking will reflect the past where they spent most of the time wasting their money and life on cigarettes but thinking about the past is not going to help you at all.

Instead you should be looking forward for another day where you are no longer smoking. I know that perhaps you have been trying to quit for many times and still not successful. It is not your failure. It is an experience for you to learn.

Whether you can quit smoking or not depends on your mind. If you can keep a positive mind, then you are on your way tou success.

Things You Should Not Worry When Quit Smoking - Part 1

Everyone who wants to smoke must has some kind of worries which are not supposed to be worried about. Smokers who wants to quit smoking must not have worries or else their efforts will be ruined. There are several worries that they should expel from their minds before they even think of quitting smoking. I am going to separate this into several parts so I can discuss more about each point. The first thing you should not worry about is the future.

“Why you should not worry about your future once you have decided to quit smoking?”

A very good example is during the early stage of quit smoking. We stop smoking and nicotine addiction makes us ‘think’ that we will not be able to resist the temptation of a cigarette and so we might fail to quit smoking at all. However, the truth is it is just an illusion. It is because we worry that we will miss smoking that makes us feel bad without taking in the usual nicotine supplement.

The key is not to panic about not able to stop smoking or pick up a cigarette before you even started on the program. What you need to do is take a step at a time. Focus on one day and then move forward to another day. Never think about the days ahead when you are living the life today.

Simply focus on not smoking today and you will be able to resist the temptation for the days to come.
