Dads too are doing their share more today than in any other time in history.</p>
<p>Exercise is a must to good health. When you are tired you don&#8217;t feel like exercising. Even though exercise gives you energy! Sound like a vicious circle. You&#8217;re right. Begin exercising with a short walk and increase the distance a little every day. Walking is one of the best exercise program you can do. <p>But, as they often try in vain to explain to non-smokers, quitting smoking is not nearly as simple for most people as it seems it should be to non-smokers. For one thing, the act of smoking is like a ritual, a ritual that actually replaces breathing and is very sensual. Take away her regular dose of the narcotic and in only several hours she could be climbing the walls and going crazy. But they are addicted to the good effects and the ritual of smoking.</p>
<p>Quitting smoking is not easy. I know because it took me over 10 years to quit myself. If you have tried to quit smoking but have not been successful, it could simply be because you have not tried the right technique. Just because your friend quit using one method does not mean it is the right one for you. Gradually cutting down can help you decrease your dependence while minimizing your withdrawal symptoms. Quitting cold turkey can be agony at first, but helps you get it over with fast.</p>
<p>Methods for quitting smoking are some of the most frequently question asked by those who really want to quit smoking. They become sick because of smoking. Firstly, cigarette contains a very addictive ingredient which is nicotine. This is why a person who tries to smoke for the first time will become a long term smoker. Secondly, promotion and advertising of cigarette. Tobacco companies know very well why people want to smoke. Thirdly, stress and relaxation. The reality is not like that. When you are smoking, nicotine fulfilling the addiction of your body to that poison.</p>
<p>If you are like me, and most smokers are, you have come to the decision that you want to quit. But, it seems like every time you stop, the cravings become unbearable. Your addiction to nicotine and the other chemicals in cigarettes is just too strong for you to use will power against, and you end up smoking just one more cigarette. Then, I had enough and was blessed to come across self hypnosis. Thoughts like, &#8220;I am a smoker&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;Smoking calms my nerves&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;Smoking keeps me thin&#8221;. You get the idea. Eventually, the cravings began to get less intense. I began to decrease my smoking each day, not on purpose really, but because the desire was no longer there.</p>
<p>What most smokers don&#8217;t know: Pills and patches can&#8217;t help you quit totally. And you don&#8217;t need to use pills, patches, medicines, gums or even nicotine replacement products. When you smoke, it&#8217;s something you have thought about before you actually did it. If you don&#8217;t break your mental ties with it, your chances of totally quitting are very slim. Because your mind has already been used to having a cigar or whatever it is based on certain events during the day, you don&#8217;t smoke on a schedule.</p>

<p>When it comes to quitting smoking, the reality is, it is easier to get into the habit again than kick it for good. What may have compelled you to stop smoking is the desire to make yourself as a good model to your kids. This can be a great challenge for parents to quit. They want to discourage smoking at home, thus, they need to initiate in creating a smoke-free home environment. You may find yourself at this present predicament, but there are available solutions out there which can help you.</p>
<p>A good idea is to involve your children in your effort to stop smoking by letting them be a witness to your struggle. Ask them to be your help and strength when the urge to smoke is getting into you. An unassuming and honest discussion with your children can be a good way to show to them just how difficult the struggle can be, while letting you fight your battles openly. It is often helpful to talk about problems as they have the tendency to become much smaller once shared out. This is a very effective means to fight against the urge to smoke , after all, parents who can discuss on anything with their children are able to resolve a lot of issues as well. This may also be a good means to talk about essential matters and at the same time to seek support from children.</p>
<p>Giving more attention to your children and less of yourself or of where you can find your pack of cigarettes will make the urge easier to reduce. Try to ask suggestions from your child of how you can fight the urge. It may be, letting your child come with you as you search for a good cigarette substitute in the market, such as a candy, or letting your child help you find a stop smoking aid which you can buy.</p>
<p>Getting your children involve in your decisions would give them the real picture of what you are experiencing. Keeping your struggle all to yourself may let your children think that smoking is an easy thing to do or to quit. They might also be tempted to smoke. Nevertheless, your effort for an honest and open relationship with them should not mean that you can just smoke around them. Second hand smoke can harm your children and this is a good enough reason not to light a stick around them. It might be helpful to ask your child to keep a smoking log to monitor you.</p>
<p>Definitely, each family has its own ideas of what are acceptable talks or information to share about and even their level of comfort. However, if you feel that you are already at the limit of what is comfortable for you then be quick to adjust. But remember that, your children are still the best help for you if you want to quit. After all, they are known for their tendency to pick on people as well as voice out other peoples flaws. </p>
<p>When you give permission to your child to help you in your struggle, you would realize that you are no longer interested in smoking. This is true when your child constantly picks on you. Whatever you feel is best for you or your circumstance at present, be quick to grab the opportunity of bonding with your child and use that bond to overcome completely the temptation to smoke. When you succeed in quitting, your child will be most proud of you and you will certainly come out a much confident individual.</p>

<p>Doctors have readily made information about the relationship between smoking, and heart disease, yet people still choose to ignore how seriously this could affect them. People still believe that the chance of something happening to them is slim to none; obviously these are the people that haven&#8217;t read or listened to the warnings.</p>
<p>There are thousands of different chemical compounds in a cigarette, with at least 60 of them being toxic. As these toxins float through your blood stream they accelerate the speed of which your arteries can potentially harden, causing the potential for coronary heart disease, as well as increasing your chances of suffering a heart attack, heart failure, and even sudden death.</p>
<p>Your body doesn&#8217;t care if you&#8217;ve smoked one pack of cigarettes, or three hundred, yet there are people that still ask if I smoke only two cigarettes a day am I still at risk? That&#8217;s like someone asking if I stand on the train tracks between 1pm and 2 pm am I still at risk of being hit by a speeding train.</p>
<p>Your doctor can&#8217;t give you a time limit on how long you will have to smoke before your arteries begin to clog, your body will take the course it chooses in due time. If you have a family history of heart disease you are more likely to suffer the consequences associated with smoking.</p>
<p>Each time you light a cigarette because you just have to have one you are affecting everyone around you. Second hand smoke affects the risk of heart disease for those around you too. Is it really worth lighting that cigarette to harm those people you care about? It&#8217;s like you are throwing them in front of the speeding train just as it goes by, they didn&#8217;t make the choice to smoke.</p>
<p>Women that take a oral contraceptives and smoke are at higher risks of heart disease than those that just smoke. Medications that suggest you do not smoke while taking them do so due to the increased chances of heart disease, and other symptoms. If the cigarette companies were made to list all toxins to the public people would be less likely to smoke after finding out what they will be putting into their bodies.</p>
<p>You may choose to put yourself at risk of heart disease due to your smoking, but you should also consider those closest to you when you next consider when and where you are going to light that next cigarette. Quitting smoking is the only way to free you from the potential health risks associated with the habit.</p>

<p>The most prevalent symptoms of lung cancer are persistent coughing, worsening of a pre-existing chronic cough and presence of blood in sputum, unexplained loss of weight, chest pains and difficulties in breathing. These symptoms will vary depending on the location of the patient and the rate at which the tumor spreads. The sad reality is that one cannot identify any early signs or warnings of lung cancer easily.</p>
<p>There are two types of cancer of the lungs: primary lung cancer and Mesothelioma, which is also referred to as secondary lung cancer. Primary lung cancer is usually starts in the lungs. Mesothelioma on the other hand results when the cancer starts in another part or other parts of the body and slowly spreads to the lungs.</p>
<p>Cancer of lungs is categorized into two; that is Mesothelioma and primary lung cancer. Primary lung cancer is that which begins inside the lungs and Mesothelioma, which is also called secondary cancer is usually as a result of another cancer which affected a different part of the body and has now spread into the lungs. The known causes of lung cancer include smoking, viruses, asbestos, radon gas and other genetic risks. </p>

<p>Radon Gas Fumes: Radon is a gas that occurs naturally and it passes to building foundations from the soil. If you are exposed to this gas, its concentration varies locally, consider the type of rocks and soil of a given area.</p>
<p>Asbestos: People who have a long contact with asbestos are likely to develop lung cancer especially if they couple it with the smoking of cigarettes. The two combinations are fatal as they increase the chances of developing cancer. Heavy exposure to asbestos lone can also result to lung cancer.</p>
<p>Viruses: In early times, viruses where thought to only cause lung cancer in animal. However, recent studies show that they can cause cancer I humans too. These viruses include JC virus, simian, papillomavirus and others. </p>
<p>Prevention measures such as avoidance of tobacco are cost-effective and better ways of avoiding lung cancer.</p>

<p>People are fast realizing the health risks of smoking, and are choosing to kick the nicotine habit in favor of a healthier, smoke-free life. However, stopping smoking isn&#8217;t as easy as it sounds, and people generally abide by two widely accepted methods. The first is cutting down gradually &#8211; setting a date by which one will stop smoking, and working towards it by steadily cutting down, and the other is the cold-turkey method. The latter means that one will stop smoking in one day, abruptly, and never again touch another cigarette. Many people, however, lack the strength or the self-control to try this, but we give you some tips to help you on your way to achieving the cold-turkey method. </p>
<p>Firstly, and this is the most obvious rule: once you&#8217;ve made up your mind to stop smoking forever, abide by it. Resist the urge to take that puff. Remember, just one puff of the cigarette, and you&#8217;re back to square one, and all your effort is down the drain. You see, nicotine affects your brain, and grows millions of nicotine receptors in almost eleven different regions. Despite your mind&#8217;s nicotine induced dopamine/adrenaline intoxication being an alert high, your chemical dependency on the substance is very real. Don&#8217;t fool yourself by saying you&#8217;ll &#8220;take just one little puff&#8221; &#8211; the words don&#8217;t exist. Tell yourself that you want to stop smoking, and just do it! </p>
<p>You should be prepared to experience a strong sense of emotional loss. Your addiction to nicotine is, after all, intense and repetitive &#8211; over the years your body has been conditioned to depend on it. You will have to face emotional turmoil in phases like denial (feeling like you don&#8217;t need to stop smoking in the first place), anger (at yourself and everyone around you), bargaining (telling yourself you&#8217;ll take just one puff and stay absolutely nicotine-free the rest of the week), depression (feeling low and generally down-in-the-dumps), acceptance (of the fact that you must stop smoking), and complacency. Remember that this emotional journey is necessary, and a healthy part of recovery. </p>
<p>Don&#8217;t skip meals, and we suggest that for the first three days, you drink lots of acidic fruit juice. Cranberry juice can help to accelerate the 72 hours needed to remove the alkaloi nicotine from your body, plus it also helps stabilize blood sugars. Regular exercise will repair the damage done to your system through smoking. It&#8217;s helpful to get a buddy with whom you can stop smoking, to get the support from one who has already kicked the habit. </p>
<p>Also, perhaps your body is conditioned to crave nicotine at certain places, or events, or times. For instance, a trip to the bar may make you want to light up. Avoid such triggers that can cause you to go backward in your efforts to stop smoking. Remember to practice deep breathing, and reward yourself for little milestones. If it&#8217;s been a month since you quit smoking, go to a restaurant for a meal, and stay in the non-smoking section.</p>

Maybe you&#8217;ve tried a few times, but resumed it in frustration. We give you some tips that will help you on the path to stopping smoking. </p>
<p>Firstly, believe in yourself, and trust the fact that you can stop smoking. Everything is achieved with guts and determination, and this is no different. Will yourself to believe that you can kick the habit, and make your own plan for quitting. Why do you want to stop smoking? To live longer? To feel better? To have fresher breath? Make a list of these reasons, and refer them constantly. Keep the benefits of stopping smoking in mind. You also need the support of your friends and family. Ask them to have faith in you, warn them that withdrawal symptoms will probably make you irritable, and that they should bear with you. After all, it&#8217;s all for the best, isn&#8217;t it? Keep a target in mind &#8211; fix upon a date by which you will stop smoking. Write it down in big bold letters, and display it somewhere prominent. </p>
<p>Fix up an exercise program. This will not only act as an effective stress-buster, but will make you healthier. You need to recover from all the nicotine damage, after all &#8211; and exercise will help your system. Start with small things &#8211; a short walk, a little sprint, and build it up as you go along. Swimming is great exercise. Consult your doctor &#8211; he will give you handy tips, as well as good guidance and support. </p>
<p>Gradually cut down on the cigarettes. Buy only a pack at a time, a few if possible, try to give your cigarettes to someone else so that you don&#8217;t have them on you when you feel the urge to take a drag.
