Nabi Biopharmaceuticals reported that patients were more likely to refrain from smoking after taking an antismoking vaccine that the company has just finished testing in the second phase of clinical studies.
In addition, smokers who didn’t quit the habit did cut down on their use, the company reported.
Patients who previously smoked a median 20 cigarettes a day but showed a high biological response to the vaccine still cut their median daily count down to 10 cigarettes.
