Quitting a habit is never easy for people. To change a habit takes time and energy. Quitting smoking is a worthwhile endeavor that reaps many benefits

There are many good reasons to quit smoking. Some involve health concerns such as removing yourself from the high risk factors relating to heart attack, stroke and lung cancer. Some involve monetary as the rising cost of cigarettes themselves. Some reasons can be peer or family pressure because it can cause serious health problems to a family member. The reasons to quit are many and varied.

*Giving up smoking is a very difficult thing to do. You must believe in yourself and have the willpower to quit.

*Talk to your doctor about quitting. Their support and possible aids could make quitting easier. Also, with regular follow-ups, they are someone you must be accountable to.

*A daily exercise program can help relieve the stress associated with the quitting process. The exercise can also help heal your body from the years of damage you have inflicted on yourself.

*Determine your quit date. By working backwards, determine how many cigarettes you can smoke each day until you reach zero. Also, only buy one pack at a time or change brands to make it more of a chore and less pleasant.

There are many reasons to quit smoking. Most people do not wake up one morning and say, Oh, I want to be smoker. It usually happens gradually until it has become an addiction.

Nothing is impossible for you to do. To quit smoking is very hard and most people try more than once before they achieve this goal. Do not give up on the process. You can quit smoking and live a happier, healthier life.
