I understand that most people would pledge to quit smoking during New Year (the beginning of the year) and then failed to do so. While, I can’t blame them for not being able to resist a smoke, after all these years of smoking the addiction is strong. Some says they can survive without water but not cigarettes. Therefore the only way to make sure you achieve success in quit smoking is to revisit your reason to quit smoking especially when you are on the brink of failing.
The most important is to ask yourself again why you want to quit smoking. The best way to remind yourself is to jot down the reasons and hang it or paste it somewhere you can see it every day. This way you can keep on reminding yourself why it is important for you to quit smoking and how you can achieve it.
It is best if you can write it this way:
I want to quit because…
You can have one reason or many reasons to support your quit smoking spirit. Write it in a piece of paper or if you prefer on a card board big enough for you to see and read.
Then, hang it somewhere you get to read it such as on the refrigerator or in your work room or simply keep a piece of it in your wallet and take it out to read it again and again when you are feeling not capable to endure the nicotine withdrawal and feel like wanted to smoke another cigarette.
At least this is one of the ways for you to acknowledge that you are sincere in quit smoking, you want to successfully quit smoking and quit smoking is all you want to do.
